Tamil film ‘Sundarapandian’ Telugu remake set to release on February 15
Hit Tamil film Sundarapandian, which starred director M Sasi Kumar, Lakshmi Menon and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, is being remade in Telugu as Speedunnodu. It stars Srinivas Bellamkonda and Sonarika Bhadoria of Jadoogadu fame. Director Bhimaneni Srinivasa who bought the remake rights is directing and producing this film under his production house Good Will Cinema.
Sundarapandian is a Tamil comedy drama that received positive reviews and was successful at the box office. It was first remade in Kannada language as Raja Huli staring Yash and Meghana Raj. It was a superhit Kannada film in 2013 and collected about Rs 14 crores.
Srinivas Bellamkonda had made his acting debut in Tollywood with Alludu Seenu opposite Samantha. Despite mixed reviews, Srinivas grabbed the audience’s attention with his dancing skills and performance. Speedunnodu is nearly complete and is all set to release worldwide on February 15.

Pallavi Subhash has started shooting for the yet-untitled Telugu remake of ‘Vicky Donor’.
Actress Pallavi Subhash, most popular for her work in Hindi television serials such as “Mahabharata” and “Chakravartin Ashok Samrat”, has started shooting for the yet-untitled Telugu remake of “Vicky Donor”.
With Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam in the lead, Shoojit Sircar made a film on the subject of sperm donation in a light manner in 2012 through “Vicky Donor”. It was appreciated by critics and was also commercially successful.
“Pallavi is reprising Yami Gautam’s role in the remake, and she has already started working on the film. She’s really excited about her role,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
Being directed by debutant Mallik Ram, the film features Sumanth in the lead role and he’s also producing it.
The film’s remake was first announced in 2013 by filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar, but since things did not fall in place, it did not get made.
Nannaku Prematho audio launch
The audio launch of director Sukumar's "Nannaku Prematho" starring Junior NTR and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead is being held in Hyderabad this evening. It is also being live-streamed on YouTube.
"Nannaku Prematho" is one of the most awaited Telugu movies of the year, and its posters and teasers have created a lot of curiosity among filmgoers, who are now eagerly waiting to listen to its songs. The makers of the film have planned to release its music at a function at Shilpakala Vedhika in Hyderabad.
The audio launch function of "Nannaku Prematho" will start at 7 pm on Sunday, and is expected to be attended by many celebrities from the Telugu film industry. Ace directors SS Rajamouli and VV Vinayak will reportedly be chief guests and unveil the first set of audio CDs of the film, which will be broadcast live on some Telugu TV channels.
Mohanlal learns Telugu for his next bilingual
Mohanlal is proving once again that he would leave no stone unturned when it comes to delivering a peak performance in a film, irrespective of its language. The latest we hear is that the superstar is busy learning Telugu for his ongoing bilingual, directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti.
The movie, is being simultaneously shot in Telugu and Malayalam, and Mohanlal has enlisted the services of a translator to get his Telugu diction precise. Its associate director Siby Jose Chalissery says, "Suresh Babu, a Malayali singer who has sung close to 2500 songs in Telugu, is helping him with the flow, diction and pauses required to fluently speak the dialogues. Lal sir wants his diction to be as close as possible to that of a native Telugu speaker."
Incidentally, Mohanlal and Siby are the only Malayalis on the sets from the start to the end of the shoot, and serve as supervisors for the Malayalam version of the family drama.
"When we film the Malayalam version, sometimes only Lal sir and I are the ones on the sets who actually know Malayalam. So, the cast and crew totally depend on us to know if the shot is fine," explains Siby, who has worked with the star in Lailaa O Lailaa.
The movie also has the superstar trying two different acting styles for each version. "Though it's a bilingual, the scenes aren't exactly similar in the two versions. There are variations in the mannerisms, emotions and dialogue delivery," says Siby. Apparently, Mohanlal is taking extra care in bringing those differences to the fore. "The intensity required for both versions are at time different and we convey the same to the Telugu actors when they are shooting for Malayalam version."
The movie also has Gauthami and Urvashi in both versions. While Urvashi is fluent in Malayalam and Telugu, we hear Gauthami is putting in extra efforts to get her Malayalam dialogues right.
"We explain to her the nuances required for the Malayalam dialogues and she's quick to pick them up. She practices until they are perfect. It's going to be a strong comeback for her in Malayalam," says Siby about the actress who was last seen in a Mollywood film 17 years ago in Vaachalam. Joy Mathew and P Balachandran are the other actors in the Malayalam version of the movie, which will complete filming by January end.
